Anti-Ragging Committee

In accordance with the directives of the Supreme Court of India and subsequent notifications from the University Grants Commission (UGC), ragging encompasses any intentional actions by an individual student or a group of students involving:

Acts of indifference, teasing, or rudeness.

Actions that obstruct or disrupt regular academic activities.

Activities likely to cause annoyance, hardship, psychological harm, or instill fear.

Financial extortion or forceful expenditure.

Physical abuse leading to assault, harm, or endangerment to health.

Abuse through spoken words, emails, SMS, public insults, etc.

Acts infringing upon the fundamental right to human dignity.

Wrongful confinement, kidnapping, molestation, unnatural offenses, criminal forces, trespass, or intimidation.

Unlawful assembly or conspiracy to engage in ragging.

Punishments for Guilty Parties:

Any student or group found guilty of ragging on or off-campus may face one or more of the following consequences:

Debarring from appearing in any sessional test or University Examination.

Suspension from attending classes and academic privileges.

Withdrawal of scholarships and other benefits.

Suspension from the college for a period of one month.

Objectives of the Anti-Ragging Committee:

The Anti-Ragging Committee serves as the supervisory and advisory body responsible for fostering a culture of a ragging-free environment on the college campus. The Anti-Ragging Squad operates under the Committee's supervision, conducting inspections in areas such as hostels, buses, canteens, classrooms, and other student gathering places. The committee is actively involved in formulating strategies and action plans to curb the menace of ragging through a variety of activities.

Responsibilities of the Anti-Ragging Squad:

Working under the guidance of the Anti-Ragging Committee, the Anti-Ragging Squad is tasked with:

Vigilantly monitoring and preventing instances of ragging in places of student aggregation, including classrooms, canteens, buses, grounds, and hostels.

Educating students on the consequences of ragging through various means.

Implementing positive reinforcement activities to orient and shape students' personalities for the better.

Collaborating with the Anti-Ragging Committee to ensure consistency and guidance in their
